One thing is for sure.
Downing Street will make bloody sure that the media is no where near when Blair's collar is felt
and they will try to intimidate knacker of the yard as much as possible

How much is that Photo worth! You can bet your bottom dollar that there are paps hidden in the undergrowth around Chequers with bloody big lenses all aiming for the "money shot"

The whole Chequers story is a red herring. It's where Tony goes to relax - why would he want to spoil a nice weekend by having the fuzz around?
There are plenty of ways the plods can enter and leave Number 10 without pausing for a photo-op on the doorstep. So unless they plan to take him back to their place in a black maria, that's how it will be done.
And if they want Blair to go to their specially fortified lair in New Scotland Yard for a bit of third degree it's only round the corner. The PM could stroll across St James Park in the dusk - like a character in Trollope.

Doesn't anyone remember the episode of 'Yes Minister' featuring the linking doorway between Number 10 and a fictional 'Department of Administrative Affairs' in Whitehall ? Surely an update is in order, with the rozzers turning up via a low-key entrance to an office in Whitehall and cheekily choosing to escape via No. 10 - 'The back door was locked, guv, honest'..

Well, Cousin Barrington (never knowingly accurate, admittedly) thinks that the venue is to be the Foreign Office (because, he says, there's bound to be a secret tunnel between 10DS and the FCO). Quite.
Given the way any tourist can apparently scale the wall from Horseguards, I can't suppose we'll be any the wiser if or when this brief encounter actually occurs. Indeed we may have already missed it.
(sigh) How one misses that nice Sgt. Dixon...
Oh and, anyonebutblair, "paps in the undergrowth around Chequers" is no way to refer to Lady Macbeth QC.

Sorry, £100 is really paltry. Maybe the BBC could up the ante a bit - assuming they haven't already spent all of our cash on other fripperies, like bonuses for the top brass, endless refitting of offices, foreign travel and expenses to the max...
Guido, shurely shome mishtake, given the habitat these days of the BBC (halfway up the Blair colon). That text ought to read:
'Media Guardian is reporting that the Beeb was offering the many Millbank minions a £100 bonus in cash to any journalist who could confirm that Tony Blair is not to be interviewed by police in the "cash for peerages" inquiry.'
Peter -- they should waterboard etc. him anyway. Nothing to do with the Yates inquiry. [It's usually the kidneys they beat with rubber hosepipes. Injuries are undetectable by doctors engaged by the defence, though the victim pisses blood for the rest of his days.]

Mr Fuller As a resident of Scotton Pinkey I am only too aware of your expertise in the black arts of torture and discreet killing. Given the choice between having my love handles thrashed with a rubber hose or the family jewels I will take the kidneys everytime. Neither option sounds a particularly attractive proposition although I have read that certain gentlemen are willing to pay good money to receive that kind of treatment from eastern European "models"

It's a sad day, but I find myself in complete agreement with Peter; although for form's sake I should point out that a good beating with a sand-filled sock doesn't leave bruises but can lead to permanent organ damage.
I'll put up a few grand if someone can join the dots. I wish I had the time.

No, honestly, Tony Blair has had a challenging day. You know it must be difficult being PM. You have to admit it takes a particular type of man to decide and then resolve these dilemmas. Go here: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/republic/. Go here: http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/keepthemonarchy/. Can you decide? Tricky.
I'd do it for a fiver....mind you, I'd do most things for a fiver....

Comrades, Our intrepid hero has been away and revealed to you our true enemies, and it's going to cost you another £100,000,000.00 to put right. This fact has slipped your notice because your waffling about a mere £100.00. The party must unite and tax the middle classes properly otherwise we won’t be able to meet our leader’s indulgences.

Whatever the information is that the Police have, remember Tony has it too and Yates has told everybody he's going to give it to the CPS in the New Year.
So nobody blame Yates for bringing the office of the Prime Minister into disrepute - he has given Tony plenty of time to make his exit before then.

The BBC's tokenistic £100 gesture has nothing to do with an attempt to find a lead for a story; quite the opposite.
Instead, there are grumblings from the BBC minions that 'The Corporation' has failed to report the story or follow it up.
The £100 offer is a kin to a sportsman's bet: well, go on then, if you think there's a conspiracy, play your cards and take a nominal sum.
In truth, the offer is bait, but no BBC employee would be foolish enough to take it: the story is worth more in money and career development.

Here's a tip. It will happen at Chequers and perhaps this weekend when Blair returns from his photo-op in Afghanistan. Can I claim my £100?
Is there any doubt that he will be interviewed, the more difficult one is whether he should be arrested prior to the interview. Do I get GBP 100?
I love it, an inquest into people paying money in return for favours... and what does the BBC do?
That's doubling their salaries....

£100 is a tad bit lame as a bonus. No doubt that is all they could spare after the daft money they are paying Jonathan Woss.
That bonus wouldn't even cover a TV licence!
I think they should waterboard the bastard the beat his bollocks with rubber hosepipes , even after he has confessed.
Come on now Guido, if one of your tshirts wasn't going to persuade them, then a £100 quid wouldn't..
Can you remember where you were when this shooting in Lebanon happened Mr Galloway
Yes.
I was in Canada taking cash from a Syrian Fascist Party that claims the Lebanon for Syria.

Labour used and abused the media for their advantage now those chickens are coming home to roost.
I look forward to Campbell et al apologising too...
BBC = CASTRATI, post Alistair Campbell.
Just when you thought New Labour sleaze couldn't get any worse, it does.
