Matthew Parris said long ago that Bliar would leave office in disgrace. One poof saw thru another.

The prime minister, Tony Blair, said, in a statement released by 10 Downing Street: "Ruth is a person of the highest integrity for whom I have great regard and I continue to have complete confidence in her."

It's like King Herod praising Medea for her child-care.

Anonymous said...

Are you suggesting someone should do the decent thing.

Pour a large scotch and Bam!

This is better than Big Brother, and no downside for your sponsors.

Anonymous said...

I'm wetting me knickers

Anonymous said...

Please Guido, no teasing, I can bear it no longer. The mere thought of Blair being forced to resign over this sends me into paroxysms of delight.

Anonymous said...

When Blair was elected he said he wanted everybody to call him Tony instead of PM. I thought at the time this man has no respect for the office he had been elected to.

We have seen from day one a series of Tonys' cronies, spin, dodgy donations, dodgy dossiers, 5 of 6 wars. His first may include war crimes let alone what he's done to Iraq.

We have also seen a spendfest, the majority of it wasted. We have been left with a huge mortguage to pay over the next generation by the way of PFI.

Plus, and I think this is the key point here, no man who foists on the world's TV screens a 9th level of hell minger like Cherie should go unpunished. Dump the Forceps Delivery Booth - shack up with Shetty, Tone!

It is said that Blair was really the one who accused Brown of being psychologically flawed.

Is he now psychologically floored?

Mr Tony
Imagine the fucking turmoil a man like Blair or Clinton goes through, one day your an ugly tosspot married to some dog, next you have all that power and all those opportunities and are still married to the same dog and because of the job there is sweet FA you can do about it.
I take comfort from knowing that people like that are deeply unhappy (+:
I have a video clip of a wanking chimp on my blog if you would care to see it.

Anonymous said...

At long last the people of Great Britain and Scotland can be free of the vile poison of the Blair era. An era that has gone on far too long in my opinion when the vile treacherous Blair should have given way to a better man years ago.

Now the way is clear for a man of integrity, principle, prudence, and Gandhiesque stature to fulfil his destiny, and take his rightful place in history and to clear the Augean stables of our great country and Britain.

Oh what a gay day! I'm really excited about it, in fact I'm so excited I've just filled my nappy with a great big plop plop.

Kindest regards.
G. Brown.(esq) Fife.

Anonymous said...

Talking about Ruth Turner on Radio 5, David (Lord) Puttnam has just said the police have "fingered" the wrong person.

Dead right. It's one of Tony's perks to finger Ruth, the plod should keep their filthy hands to themselves.

Tuscan Tony said...

PH, thanks, you have summed up the situation more eloquently than that Michael Mansfield QC could have done. Re the simian on your esteemed blog, was that the same one that was spanking the monkey (if I may use that phrase in this context) over Jade Goody the other day? We must be told.

Talking about Ruth Turner on Radio 5, David (Lord) Puttnam has just said

He also said (on Radio 4) that he'd stake his life on her being innocent. Good thing for him, then, that using your own life as a gambling chip/stake was made illegal some while back.

Puttnam has also pitched up on Channel 4 News, staking "his reputation" on her innocence.

The use of the word "theatricals" has popped up amongst the great and the good in describing the police raid this morning.

Its popped up so many times one might think they were being briefed.

Anonymous said...

Why in heavens name is Lord Puttnam throwing away his unblemished reputation by defending the accessories before the fact? He must be really desperate to be annointed Chairman of the BBC.

Guido Fawkes said...

Anonymous said...

Not you Guido. You got scooped by the Daily. By hours.

And furthermore, what smoking gun? Talk about a catch-all headline with no hints that can enable you to claim credit whatever they've found.

Anonymous said...

Not only Puttnam but also dear old Blunkers has apparently rushed to say something to the effect that the police are always getting it wrong and its downright appalling that they should pick on this fragrant lass

Are they claiming to know more about the evidence than the rest of us? I think Yates should ask them.

If he thinks she is innocent then what does he think of Blair?

Blair should be on War Crimes charges in the Hague, with his pal Clinton. Or better still, on trial in Belgrade for crimes committed during his illegal wars in the Balkans. But Pentonville will do.

To say I dont have any confidence in the police "service" would be un understatement of Prescott like proportions.

All this will not even start to be exposed fully untill Labour are out of power and the BBC is instructed/forced to start doing its job honestly.

There is a hope that now the BBC employees have their morgage payments sorted for the next few years we may see an improvement in the BBCs behavior. Please dont put the kidds piggy bank money on it, im just trying to be optomistic about something.

from bbc.co.uk this morning:
'Labour anger over honours arrest'
Labour peer Lord Puttnam, who is a friend of Ms Turner's, told BBC Radio Five Live he thought the arrest was "ludicrous".

And in other news:
'Burglars should be allowed to keep proceeds, says Sheena Easton'
'Police well-known for fabricating evidence, says Jeffrey Archer'
'I only stabbed her a little bit, says OJ'

Anonymous said...

I agree with Haha. You do have to laugh. BBC breakfast talking about what were previously criminal offences like theft or threatening behaviour now given fixed penalty notices ! Followed by that Labour twat Puttnam "appalled" by the police behaviour to Ruthie.

...Er, Perhaps Puttnam and Jowell and the rest of the Labour party don't consider Conspiracy to Pervert to Course of Justice a serious offence. Perhaps that's the next offence to receive fixed penalty notices?

Anonymous said...

Typical of BBC news to try and help their mates in Labour out. A Tory councillor gets rebuked for sending an insulting email to someone! Wow! that's scandalous, the nation must be shocked! This type of pathetic anti-Conservative party propaganda is a disgrace but will intensify when Brown takes over. So much of the BBC bias is based around this type of agenda setting, Deciding what to headline as well as how they present it. I really hope the Tories have the guts to scrap the telly tax when they next get in, and take these bastards on.

But, all TV news (all 3 organisations) is the same. It's run by the same Oxbridge socialists who keep the BBC model of broadcast journalism alive. That includes Sky.
Sky couldn't make up their minds whether they were going Put CBB or Turner's arrest as the top story. When they reported on Turner's arrest the had comment from and SNP MP and some Liberal Democrat MP saying that it was like the "last years of the Major government". Strange, I don't remember any criminal investigations into Major and Co. Perhaps he should have said it was like the Lib Dems chief donor being sent to prison for fraudulent activities!

Of course, Sky then left the Conservatives out of the debtate altogether, that's a typical BBC trick, Don't dare give the Tories any airtime, even though they are the official opposition party in this country!

Sky seem to use sensationalist stories as an excuse for not talking about the more serious domestic issues. When Blair was questioned by Police, Sky didn't even headline it FFS. Theya hs some other sensationalist crap as the main story (can't remebr what, as it was so trivial)

Broadcast news is excluively NuLab.

Anonymous said...

I thought it was government policy not to comment on an ongoing police investigation? Yet suddenly, the air is thick with comments. Am I missing something?

Anonymous said...

I've just seen Peter Spencer on Sky News, virtually apologising, for the attacks on the government yesterday, saying "we went a bit over-the-top" Fucking hell! have this government passed a law, saying that broadcasters are not allowed to criticise them ,or something!
Broadcast news is just state controlled!! I'm emigrating to a non-fascist country!!!

Anonymous said...

Just when I thought the pantomime season had finished, up pops Puttnam, how the fuck does he know what Ruth has been doing with Tony?

His appearance, together with those paragons of virtue Blunkett and Mills suggest that the pressure of this little enquiry is beginning to tell.

However, much as I would like to see these scumbags in chokey, Tony Bliar and his cronies have had 10 years to put their mates in positions of power and influence. Regretably, Bliars teflon coating has proved to be most resiliant.

Anyone that can conjure up the Hutton report is capable of anything. There will be countless toadies desperate for a few minutes in front of a camera (Puttnam) or who are prepared to prostitute themselves for some future honour.

Now that claims of Iraq having WMD have been proved to be fundamentally flawed, am I mistaken in thinking that the author of the dodgy dossier, far from being sacked for incompetence, has just recently been Knighted?

Is it likely that Andrew Gilligan who exposed the government lies is likely to welcomed back into the BBC. I doubt it. The Beeb has become an organ for Gnu Labor propaganda and most of the reporters are so far up the arses of Bliar and Brown you can barely see their shoes.

I hope that Yates of the Yard has the balls to see this through and that he isn't seduced by the dark side.

The Scoffer said...

I wonder if the broadcast media are soft-soaping this because they feel a bit sheeping about the way they over-egged the Bad News Funeral in December.

Anonymous said...

Thery're soft-soaping it because they are either NuLab lackies trying to minimise Labour's losses at the next election or because number 10 has been on the blower to News Corp and bought out the old threats of banning page three, bringing in privacy laws and breaking up the Sky Satellite monopoly. What is the fucking point of broadcast news!!!!!!

The Military Wing Of The BBC said...

nice one, geezer
this is how far the conversation went on the radio 4 pm prog yesterday:
1.5 mins devoted to the story.

Puttman was available for comment yesterday because as deputy chairman channel 4 they would have been having high level meetings re CBB.

Hence he was at the heart of the political-media complex and could be directed to hand out comments. For EVERYBODY else it was all-poets day.

Anonymous said...

Lets be honest, this is just another step in the decay of the UK, its one of those ones events where someone has steped in something unmentionable and the only doubt is whether they slip and land in the mess or not.

The twist is that as in Cuba there is a hand over of power within a socialist state, Brown has a few scores to settle and Yates will probably be used to do some of the work for him. Is one of Brown’s acolytes doing some humble service to the great man and making some anonymous phone calls to Yates when things don’t seem to be moving in the required direction?

That’s where to look for ‘Deep Throat’ , once Brown has put some patsy into no.11 to distract from that mess look for something analogous to Gerald Ford’s Watergate post coital.

Dear Voyager

Only the House of Lords saved us from Herr Blair's recent "Religious Hatred Incitement" proposals

This would have criminalized a remark like "I believe in Christianity" - it might have been likely to incite religious hatred in a likely hearer (eg a Muslim terrorist who might have responded by blowing up London buses)

Christians may well need all the advice which Mr Aitken or Miss Turner can give, if Cruella's husband remains as PM & gets this obnoxious legislation enacted
