Oh dear poor little Guido, shall mummy pick up your toys and put them back in the pram?

Anonymous said...

Exactly, your story is a total bust Guido, pack it in will you.

Rape?

Stangely I was told earlier this week that the announcement on the draft East of England Plan (you know building 500,000 homes in the green belt) that was planned for today was delayed to next Tuesday- because alot of other announcements planned today. What did they know!

I wonder what proportion of the anonymous pro-Blair choir take the NuLab shilling in some form or another?

Anonymous said...

These politicians must all support Millwall.

No-one like us and we don't care.

Well, of course they don't, when they still act as though Jo Moore is running their media operation.

The timing of the release of this information is shameful.

Bryan Appleyard said...

Hot stuff, Guido. 'Just a chat' is a joy.

"I wonder what proportion of the anonymous pro-Blair choir take the NuLab shilling in some form or another?"

Indeed. They make sure they get the 'astroturf' laid down and then all other posts have to follow on.

I wonder if they are paid from labour party coffers or from the public purse?

BD.

Although interestingly (worryingly?) the BBC's 'Most Popular Now' chart shows that none of those stories are top of people's agenda - they are instead prioritising reading about the world's tallest man saving the lives of dolphins!

Anonymous said...

What's the Ipswich rape story? I think Suffolk Constabulary should be informed. The last that I heard (via the mainstream media) was that the Ipswich story was a murder case, not rape. Does Number 10 know something?

Anonymous said...

Does Robbo declare these tips, i think the HMIC needs to be told.
Nice to have your own publicly paid poodle on top.
Lord Robinson of Areselicking?

Anonymous said...

Guido, did No. 10 apparatchiks brief you that they expected Blair to be interviewed under caution, watch as your story got overinflated and then try to trash it with anonymous posts at the top of this comment feed when it fell slightly short?

Caution or no caution, it's still a huge story.

Anonymous said...

The NuLab mongs are too thick to get the point. No 10 are trying to bury bad news (again) in the hope we don't notice the little matter of the PM being questioned by the police. It doesn't work any more, but in classic NuLab style, they are incapable of learning.

Anonymous said...

Oi! All anonymous comments are supposed to be in SUPPORT of Guido. Sort it out!

Hedgy said...

This is 'par for the course' and I'd expect any semi decent PR outfit to do the same. Having done the same for one of the largest banks there is nothing new in this 'Steven Byers' moment....mind you I wonder how NuLab got the Ipswich stuff organised....That said, the other side of the coin is to pound the Blair story into everyones brains so it begins to gegister that the guy has done something illegal....

Anonymous said...

Can I have my country back? The one where we had PMs that were not the subject of police enquiries.

Anonymous said...

Regarding the first two comments here ; do the Labour Party now operate a "Guido Watch" squad?
He obviously seems to be causing them some discomfort, I hear a tormented Gordon Brown now regularly cries "GUI- D'OH!" at inopportune moments throughout the day.

The word 'chat' has sledom been used with such exquisite precision.

Post Office closures [Daahling] - They are just soooo last century..

Typical meeja luvvies-for-labour...

i for one get sick and tired of these fuckwits such as those nadders points out.

so,it's a non story, well tell me then why the fuck is it still running.

If it was to be a whitewash,it could have been left to lie earlier in the year when most peoploe were saying 'nothing will come of it ' etc.if done then noone would have been any the wiser and the deadtree press would have carried on asd before.

Strikes me that yates of the yard is no lackey and the law is the law.NOONE is above it.

I know that's something some of you zanu lab fuckers find hard to believe. As far as I'm aware
'we're not Tories ' is not a strong defence in court.

Anonymous said...

Never mind the begrudgers Big G...off with you to a Totty party 2nite, get blathered and post their pics 2moro.

Anonymous said...

What is totally and utterly discraceful and should be shouted from the hills is that The Dear Leader was interviewed last Thursday. No.10 waited until today to release that fact. That is clearly because the Stevens Inquiry into the death of Diana reported today and No.10 wanted yet again to "Bury Bad News"

I have had quite enough of this lot, does anyone have the address of a Gunpowder stockist as I need a rather large amount, no questions asked.

Anonymous said...

Can I just ask what they were supposed to do?

"Excuse me Mr Yates, can you pop over to Ipswich, arrest this serial killer and then come back on a slow news day... thanks"

NuLab do a lot of shit, killing prostitutes to piss on your Xmas Guido is a bit much.

(PS Not NuLab thanks, before the rabid tits on here start frothing... its just this story, does Mr and Mrs Average actually fucking care? Really? Do they... go to a pub up and down the land and I bet you, NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT! Lord Toffingdon bought a rather ridiculous and old fashioned title... thrilling. Now try the fucker for war crimes and I may be interested)

'tip robinson first'?

surely it is illegal to wantonly dispose of contaminated waste?

This was photoshopped, surely?

Looks like someone's reasding Guido over at News International:

"'we're not Tories ' is not a strong defence in court."

No, but it's damned good mitigation!

Anonymous said...

Guido, Anyonebutblair - I am confused [it doesn't take much] Why are people saying this interview took place last Thursday when I thought he was still in the USA?

The reference was to the interview taking place from 11 to 1 - that would surely refer to TODAY ? Please can we clarify, since if the interview didn't take place today, then this is the most shameless media manipulation since the Jo Moore / Byersgate incident.

Guido Fawkes said...

It was today.

jailhouselawyer said...

What no mention of the prisoners vote case? Iain Dale has stolen a march on you here!

Anonymous said...

I particularly like the "Analysis: Probe mars Blair's exit" headline on the BBC, but that's because I'm a child.

Anonymous said...

yawn... isnt he innocent yet? said... "Do they... go to a pub up and down the land and I bet you, NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT IT! " ACtualy in my local, out in the sticks, people have been following it quite a bit, I think that you new labour tossers don't realise exactly how much you're despised outside of the cities. If charges are ever laid I for will one will be swinging from the rafters downing champagne, probably by the pint.

Amazingly enough even "ordinary people" are disgusted by the way the labour party have whored the honors system, we're just apathetic because we don't think that anyone will do anything about it.

Anonymous said...

It is quite interesting to see a couple of political journalists spinning the line that they had "heard" rumours that Blair would be interviewed under caution, so their verdict now is that the fact he has not been means he is in the clear?
Rumours they did not share with us which they have now followed with a "verdict" that Blair is in the clear because these "rumours" did not prove correct.????
How many days and weeks of planning and negotiation went into this supposed non story coming out today? Was this the ultimate good day to bury bad news for No10?

Anonymous said...

rosscoe peco 4.40

Ahem to that. Not only do we despise NewLab, we are also aware of the contempt they hold us in. Every day Prescott continues in office is a sign of that contempt.

Anonymous said...

Guido & Anonymous 4.01 I'll happily stand corrected.
But there does seem to be some confusion on the web about exactly when he was interviewed. Which Thursday? Today or last week?
Either way, they are still burying bad news. If the interview was today, Blair and Co. scheduled it with Yates to clash with the bad news to be buried....

Anonymous said...

Interesting that Number 10 are saying that they are not going to go into why it was scheduled today. I would have expected "it was all up to yates" but as they are not saying that one has to suspect the opposite.....

Vlad the Impala said...

Nothing, but nothing, the dear leader does would amaze me and most all of what he had done depresses me. Let's hope his trip to the middle east is a one way excursion, and that he and Lord Cashpoint get the warm, loving welcome his policies deserve.

Can the various and anonymous NuLab nads please sod off?

Anonymous said...

You can't beat a good bad news day.

Signed TB.

Anonymous said...

congratulations jailhouselawyer.

Talk about a good day to release bad news though - nulab are pure evil. Doesn't seem to be working though - Blair being questioned is lead story on PLANETROCK,and thats' where opinion formers get their news.

Anonymous said...

Repeat after me 'Wider Public Interest'.

So sleaze is okay if it's in, altogether now, after 3..

one - two - three....the 'Wider...'

Anonymous said...

anyone notice we got the brazilian appeal verdict (rejected, since you ask) buried today as well?

They don't call us the ruling class for nothing : we can get away with anything, including shooting innocent people in the head seven times and lying about it.

Have a nice day.

...and Goldsmith chooses today to say there's no public interest in the SFOs investigation of BAE and the Saudi arms deal...

Anonymous said...

You missed the SFO dropping the Saudi bribery scandal. Seems to be one hell of a day for burying all types of bad news.

Anonymous said...

And the SFO dropped the prosecution of the Saudi's for bribery - whisky's and hoes all round! Possibly the biggest day for hidding bad news of all time.

Anonymous said...

"Amazingly enough even "ordinary people" are disgusted [by the cash for peerages stuff]"
Unfortunately the Tories' financial dealings haven't been too good and they can only really claim "look, they're just as bad as us, they're just as hypocritical!" Which isn't a good line of attack.

The Telegraph are loving it all though. I'm looking forward to Simon Heffer's next outing.

On the BAE thing - hahahahaha. The reason given is that it would cause a diplomatic incident - in other words, there was much illegality involved but we're going to overlook it. Shouldn't the EU step in amusingly at this juncture?

Anonymous said...

did blair have to give a dna sample?

Anonymous said...

This is getting even more mightily interesting as it unfolds by the minute. It's all over BBC Radio 5 as I type, complete with very august old dead-tree media lobby correspondents such as Anthony Howard and George Jones sounding every bit as cynical about the whole NuLab news-management agenda as you or me. Quite unlike the usual easy ride they get on that channel.

Anonymous said...

I am trying to consider the mind-shattering naivety/insanity of someone investigating a Saudi government contract and

1) Being suprised that there was bribery
2) Being suprised that the Saudi government was upset - no one des anything there without the Family getting a cut.

I rather think that some ZanuLabour loon thought that they could get the whole Jonathan Aitken thing going again, since we are talking about the contracts that he was involved in.

Anonymous said...

What a day, to return to the Bunker analogy; the Russians have reached Berlin. Not long now.

Anonymous said...

"This country is a shadow of its former self."

Yeah, Blair is nothing compared to Lloyd George. Now he was a REAL crook.

towcestarian said...

"On the BAE thing... Shouldn't the EU step in amusingly at this juncture?"

You are having a laugh aren't you Mr Anon? With all the bribes that the French make to sell their 2nd rate arms the EU will keep well out of it.

Anonymous said...

I meant "shouldn't they step in [for comedic purposes]".

The idea of them investigating a Saudi contract was astonishingly ludicrous.

:)

I have to say I didn't stop to think about the French though. It's a pity. I doubt it would've happened even without the French though. It just would've been very funny.

Anonymous said...

no longer anonymous @1119

".. Blair is nothing compared to Lloyd George. Now he was a REAL crook."

And LG won a REAL war..

Bliar can't even make his gov work, never mind Iraq (or even Basra).

Worthless lying fucker.

Anonymous said...

I get the impression NuLab are even trying to bury this thread.

Hedgy said...

Sorry, dropping the Saudi enquiry makes good sense...its called living in the real world...not some ethical utopia beloved by those who have never held a real job...the same principle applies to the blind eye approach to Ulster where we let killers free, as well as let them on the legislative...how pragmatic is that!
