This verdict has brought out the hypocrite in everyone, it seems. All the secular humanists are up in arms too, but not because it's an execution: because it's an icky old hanging! They honestly think there's a moral difference between hanging a man and injecting him with lethal poisons.
They already tried to kill him without a trial, remember? IIRC, one attempt with "precision" munitions resulted only in massacring restaurant customers.

It’s with regret Saddam Hussein is in this position. He has been a disciple of enormous stature in the region and world stage. But the capture and trial of a leader of a country is indicative of world we find ourselves in today.

I'd bet the execution WILL be televised, too. The potential for all kinds of half-baked conspiracy theories is too great if he doesn't get hanged in public, on camera. And it'll be on YouTube in no time flat, too.
