Oh do wake up at the back there, please!

This is Friday, it's after our leisurely and entertaining lunch and the sun is out. You can not expect we Guardianistas to do anything about this one till Monday, surely?

I mean, get real, eh?

maybe nick robinson could get a job there when BBC give him the push for being USELESS

You should be glad they knew your name.

I bet AutoTrader staff (subsidising Teh Grauniad) would be a bit more on the ball.

I must confess, I like 'The Guido Fawkes?'

How many does this intern think there are? And why would someone other than the Guido be phoning the Guardian?

I wonder how many A-levels this person managed to get... or was it a degree in Media Studies?

No, but could you learn some grammar before then? (To start you off: it should be 'us" not 'we'.)

Why doesn't The Guardian flog Auto Trader to trader.com and merge with the Indie so Tony O'Reilly can lose zillions on them both ?- it's the only way the Indie will get its journos back

OT but

"Blair Discovers The Joys Of Emailing"

Not sure if Powell/Ruth Turner share those sentiments at the moment....

Gippomsc will be in the next edition of the OED.

As for Blair and email, that seems to me to be a cunning bit of spin implying that nobody in the upper levels of govt has a clue what these awful blog thingies are all about and that "we'd certainly never do anything with our computers than Yates might want to read later, honest guv."

No no NO. There are only three conditions required for young journalists to secure employment at the Grauniad. If you are:

1) Related to senior staff
2) A member of an extremist Islamic sect
3) An illiterate, fit, young woman

The traineeship's yours.

Now we have a meritocratic society, we need to keep the plebs out some other way. The sheer number of posh jobs that rely on unpaid work before you get them is ridiculous.

These days one is not allowed to judge someone on what their father does, or where they went to school. So why not simply look down on those who failed to spend a gap year on another continent?

You'll be bloody surprised if they do turn up to mow your grass....especially if they're a fit young thing.
"The Guido in Grauniad intern soliciting scandal"

Nick Robinson could nearly hang onto his job then...

You are not polly toynbee as your comment is not written in accordance with the Guardian Style Guide. Good try nearly had me convinced!

The Guido in Grauniad intern soliciting scandal

Max Clifford is already acting for the intern...

Polly is on 'Any Questions?'

Presumably refers to Fealty's article on CiF about Prescott and the Bloggers.
Guido, why are you whoring yourself to Happold instead of revealing all to your loyal blog readership?
Anarcho-capitalist b*stard.

What could be sweeter than getting paid money by that nest of vipers?

Not sure that gippomsc will make the OED - but Guido is doing a very good job of popularising "Perp Walk" which may well find its ways into the neologisms of 2006 end of year reviews.

Leave it out, Illiterate. We don't do English. If you want all that grammar and stuff you'll have to read the Sport.

Then again, maybe the Telegraph can help you with your particular personal fetish.

Guido,

Sorry to reinterpret your name recognition story, but people at The Guardian always speak by italicising the The before a capital G.

Anonymous said...

Isn't "The Guido" the Italian edition of the Graun's piss-poor Saturday listings magazine?

Anonymous said...

yeah yeah yeah --- but what did Michael have to say (we go back a long way - still have problems calling him Mick)?

Anonymous said...

i remember a similar conversation not too long ago... got the same sort of brush off, the polite way of saying "i dont care, go away".
lo-and-behold yesterday i get an email from the sod who brushed me off wanting me to scratch his back. revenge tastes better sweeter so i changed the story, that was still quite positive about them simply to spite him by including ALL the damaging quotes i could.

I'm telling you, dude, the intern was all, like, "post it man, don't wait for these stuffed turkeys to wake up and smell the blogosphere! Go, Comrade, Go!" He can't imagine why you'd want to give it to them.

Guardian intern posh product of media studies course

Did you ask about her legs ? Women like it if you ask if their legs are tired or trim, slinky or slender.............a man on the telephone should know all about a woman when he uses the telephone and any self-respecting girl should tell him so he doesn't waste valuable time or money

Had we established that gippomsc was female or are we just assuming the Guardian would only exploit posh birds?

If all you wanted was to get your grass cut, you should have rung a garden maintenance firm. They won't do it for free though.
