Does this mean snickering at the liar is outlawed by commisar Blair?

Loyal to his perks. I bet Pauline gives him six-nil in the ears when she gets him indoors.

After reading the interview, it's all very clear what has transpired isnt it?

We just dont know the specifics ......yet.

Carole Caplin and Tony Blair anyone?

Take pity on the poor bastard. Jesus.

But do keep him away from sharp objects, legislative initiatives and anything to do with housing stock.

He should visit your advertiser who has solutions for pants-down situations.

I gave up the Today Programme in favour of Sarah Kennedy a long time ago on the grounds that it was too depressing, but maybe I'd better do a re-think: this is hysterically funny.

Chad's Iain Dale advert isn't very nice. Given that Chad is one of the most self-obsessed egos in the blogosphere, who sets up his own party every other week, it's a bit of a nerve.

The most one can say in his defence is that he may have directly answered the question but in his own weird language that nobody else understands.

On second thoughts I'd have thought someone with his simplicity would just have said "no".

Looks like question-dodging after all.

Humphrey's was brilliant.

I look forward to the Sunda redtops. I hear the
sky's between blighty and china have been rather busier than normal.

Perhap's tone will let Prescott become the cultural ambassador to
Texas.

Who is next for the chop?

On the News last night didn't I hear the President (or PM) of Chad saying, in support of >3 shags, that politicians faced all sorts of hazards but they managed to get on top of them. I wonder how the women feel about being described as hazards.

Road humps,bumps,curves,I suppose.

However the thought of Prescott on top is so funny..I suppose it could be perpetual movement? or so he wishes.

Chipolata's anyone?

When I listened to it yesterday I thought he was being particularly evasive, but reading your transcript, Guido, it is clear just how evasive he was! Actually quite a good politician's performance of avoiding answering a direct question.

Why didn't he just say 'No'? Well, I'm left wondering if his only virtue in that interview was that he didn't actually 'lie' on-air. If there is any substance to these rumours he must know it will all be winkled out in due course ;)

Whilst I'm enjoying the sight of Prescott and his cohorts squirming, I don't actually care whether Prescott has been fornicating with the entire Civil Service - female, male or of any other persuasion, individually or collectively. Most of them are stuffed in one way or another anyhow.

What gets to me is the deliberate lying, deviousness and obfuscation which is the hallmark of this man and all of his government colleagues (or is that co-conspirators?).

These people are disgusting, unprincipled, lying, deceitful scum. Bring out the tumbrils.

Rumour is that the two unnamed ladies in Prezza's past are Annie Oakley and of course - "Calamity" Jane. Can anyone confirm?

Don't know why you bothered with the entire transcript, Guido - the [unintelligible] would have summed it up nicely!

BTW, did you know that, by a strange coincidence, Sir Philip Mawer hails from Hull?

Anonymous said...

This is pathetic. If any of you asked me about my amorous exertions you would get a punch on the nose. Go for it JP!

So - you've actually got nothing on him re. the casino? This has all been an embarrassing cock up by Guido and Iain, to coin a phrase.

He might "hail" from there, but he sure as hell does live anywhere near there.

Quote from Prescott in Humphries Radio 4 interview (off BBC News web-site)

People must judge me on what I do on the job.

We already have!!!!

3 shags might not end up as the only casualty, (well, it probably wont do much for Rosie's brief career as a pc either !).
al-beeb are getting a real leathering from the great unwashed over their non-coverage of the story - the current tally on Nick Robinsons blog feedback, is 2 supporting al-beeb and 96 slagging them off !!
The best comment yet, is that all al-beeb editorial meetings should be available unedited in pod cast format....Some bright parliamentarian please run with that.

I'm guessing that "Pauline" has always known, but has chosen to remain silent. She does have a relatively good standard of living after all.

Why does it matter if he has had an affair or not?

The dome and Anschutz stuff is a fair story, im not sure the private life stuff is.

Interesting update from the Beeb:

Tory anger over Prescott inquiry

But the civil servants who had accompanied him on the visit had not logged the stay in the department's register of hospitality.

"I have ensured that this has now been done," said Sir Gus. "My view is that the officials should have been advised to do so at the time".

I wonder if anyone "interesting" appears is on the department's register - anyone able to find out?

"This is pathetic."

No, what is pathetic is that Prescott couldn't bring himself to say "no, it's not true" amidst his incoherent rambling.

As a public figure he is open to public scrutiny. We like to know whether our political masters are setting high standards.

He is a politician after all. Question dodging is what they do best.

For months we have had the rumours, even before the Tracey outing. Poor old Prezza, damned for being a stud and damned for not letting us into his wonder drug....chipolata's anyone.
But the evasivness, it's so damning.

"In an interview with BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Thursday, Mr Prescott said he had visited Mr Anschutz's ranch during a US visit because of his love of cowboy films and desire to know more about farm subsidies."

Yet another variation. Bareback Mountain and the Money Stream - maybe he's thinking of taking up farming when he's kicked out.

Anonymous said...

Of course the Americans have farm subsidies! In fact greater subsidies than the EU (which reformed in 2002 and broke the link between production and grant). Typical Tories living in an imaginary world!

FYI, they also still have tariffs on Canadians and Mexican goods, despite NAFTA's signing treaty stating that these tariffs would be progressively removed. But I bet loads of Tories believe that the Americans practice "free-trade" and that it would be wondrous to leave the world's only genuine free-trade zone to join the we'll-keep-the-tariffs-NAFTA.

While I'm at it, I'll debunk another Tory fantasy - no the Tories don't have a majority in England - it's Labour who has the majority in England. Big clue: Labour has 286 English seats to the 194 Tory English seats. 286 is a bigger number than 194, geddit? Be sure to tell Alan Duncan!
