A 500% return is even better. What do you mean by "big"?

I got money on the Lib Dems in Dunfermline at 10-1 and made a tidy profit.

Odd contrast with Iain Dale.

Oooh G, I would be very careful about laying big bets on that market if I were you...

Postal votes close?

"Only Guido can win here" and he's got the bar charts to prove it.

Talking of get-rich-quick schemes (so not entirely off-topic)...

NuLab are planning to put the boot into the train leasing companies for 'making too much profit'. What's to prevent a future government turning on NuLab's PFI 'partners' on exactly the same grounds? Some of Labour's fat-cat friends might need their Lords' allowances after all.

Anyone who imagines that the LibDems can take B & C with their left wing high tax policies and pro federalist stance on europe has patently never been to the constituency. And that's before you consider their unpopular vote loser of a leader or their very poor performance during the local elections in London earlier this year. Perhaps they are finally starting to believe their own lies about "winning here"?

High Tax?
I thought they were proposing to cut tax by 2p!
Lib Dems are to the right of Camerons tree hugging lefties!

Anonymous said...

Careful. You mean the bookies have cut the odds AGAINST the Lib Dems to 5/1, surely?

Anonymous said...

So you haven't noticed the LibDEm promises on local income tax and, amongst many others, vehicle excise duty then. Those alone will ensure that almost everybody would pay more tax under a LibDem Govt than they already do under this the highest taxing and most wasteful Government in British history.

John Hemmings appears to be a complete idiot. I say this based on nothing more than his entry on Wikipedia. If I was him I would get there sharpish, and start disputing some of it. That is unless it is all true. Oh dear. Can he afford several hundred notes with an illegitimate kid and two women on the go?!

The funniest bit of it was that Hemmings admitted the affair to wifey after said mistress announced she was pregnant by him. Never one to admit defeat until after the fat lady has sung her lungs out.

What are you going to spend his money on Guido?

Anonymous said...

matt - both those policies are revenue neutral.

Anonymous said...

Hemming making a three figure bet.

Lets face it he has the money - it can't be taken as a prediction of the result.

Anonymous said...

Guido - why would Hemming bet with you at 3-1 when he can get 5-1 at Betfair? Is it some sort of bribe?

Anonymous said...

You can't bet much on Betfair.

Anon at 6.27 - it depends on whether anyone is prepared to match your money.

Anonymous said...

At the moment you could lay around £200 between 9.4 and 11's. The total matched in the market is only £20K...

Guido is better off making his own book!

Michael Oakeshott - ISTR John Hemming is one of the MPs trying to stop innocent parents being accused of abuse and losing their children forever. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,23729-2185454,00.html

Pulsar - I don't even have kids, but if I was one of those parents, I'd be damn grateful.

Video of Bromley candidate Nigel Farage's speech.

Part 1 of video.
Part 2 of video.

And here he is in full flow giving Tony Blair a good kicking (reccomended).
Blair rotweillered.

Keep a look out for Blair's expression three-quarters of the way in.

That will be John Hemming, the millionaire owner of a large estate in the West Country. I suspect he can afford to throw away a few quid on a bet with Guido.

He reads my blog too, so I wouldn't get too up yourself Guido.
