It really is very intersting watching/listening to the BBC's coverage of the Prescott affair(s).
Not content with ignoring new allegations surrounding his conduct that surfaced in the Sunday's the BBC's news anchors and pundits so far in their reviews of Monday's early editions deliberately avoided those titles with further evidence of his misconduct (Mail & Express).
We are now seeing a story the significance of which is changing before our very eyes. Dim witted hacks could just about claim on Saturday night that the Prescott affair was a private matter. But Sarah Bisset-Scott's revelations suggest that her regeneration company has been patronised by government as a result of her dalliance with lard-arse. We may have a minister who owes her political position to her sexual position. And we may well have other women civil servants and MP's who resisted his advances and harrassment and whose careers have suffered as a result.
In fact the 'Temple' affair may yet reveal a wider 'sex for jobs' culture within New Labour, an appropriate counterpoint to 'cash for peerages' adding a whole new (literal) significance to the epithet 'Blair's Babes'.
For whatever reason, the BBC does not wish to go there. It prefers to tell us ad nauseam that Prescott has reacted 'angrily' to the finer points of an affair that he has publicly acknowledged and that the PM is prepared to stand by him as he views the DPM's difficulties as a 'private matter' (an opinion he can only credibly hold because of the unwillingness of the BBC to air the latest revelations).
The BBC's behaviour in this case is an utter disgrace. It is engaging in blatant Soviet style censorship, deliberately concealing information of interest to the electorate at a critical time in the run up to elections.
I would like to urge all bloggers/visitors to this forum to protest to the BBC in the strongest possible terms and demand that this abysmal state of affairs be rectified immediately.

Does anyone else find it interesting that Roz Prescott (JP's daughter-in-law) works for BBC News? Apparently on the day the story first broke in the Mirror (the one the BBC didn't refer to at all that night) she was the one sending the news crews to "whichever story was deemed appropriate"!

The late and very unlamented Lavrenty Pavlovitch Beria became Deputy Prime Minister of the Soviet Union after Stalin's death. He was also notorious for the manner and frequency of his "dalliances" with women.
I have this niggling feeling there's a connection in here somewhere. I just can't put my finger on it.

eria certainly did have a penchant for schoolgirls though I was led to belive his tastes covered a pretty broad age range.
Quite frankly he was an all round bad egg and one sincerly hopes there is a specially nasty place in Hell for him.

They're always incredibly slothlike with anything that has the slightest chance of perturbing the lawyers (and given NewLabs combatativeness in this respect, that's now pretty much anything). So they'll timidly report that allegations have been made in newspapers before diving under their desks in fear.

She also said that some articles had misquoted her.
Resolution:
The matter was resolved when the newspaper noted the complainant's position as being: that there was no affair between her and Mr Prescott, that she was never his mistress, and she has neither taken nor been offered any advantage for herself, her professional or political standing nor for her business in this matter; and that reports that she “claimed to have had an affair with Mr Prescott” are untrue.
