How exciting. You should write to Watchdog about this!

I think Guido's insinuating that they may have broken data protection laws, not to mention betrayed the trust (and insulted the intelligence) of people that opened those terrible emails that they sent out.

I received their emails and I've never had any association with the Labour Party. The only time I've sent them an email is for the 'Big Conversation' thing, so I take it they either harvest emails or buy email lists.

I'm sure they harvest emails too because I've emailed them before but not filled out their online forms. I got loads fo emailes from them during the election asking for support and all the usual crap.

Guido is saying that the Labour Party have breached both the Data Protection Act and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. They have ignored a request for information under the Data Protection Act, a criminal offence. They also used clandestine tracking links in their emails which is an offence under the Privacy and Electroic Communications Regulations.

Guido, stick with this - it's worth fighting for. Complain to the Data Protection Commissioner about the DPA breach.
